The office of government procurement (OGP) awarded CDG after a competitive process the project to create a user experience for their users. CDG created new icons for the OGP website and graphic banners along with UX design interface.
Procurement is a key element of the Government’s Public Service Reform agenda and is a very significant portion of overall spending. The Irish State buys everything from pens and paper, through to ammunition and surgical equipment. In fact, they spend €8.5bn every year on goods and services. In this context, it is essential that the Public Service operates in a co-ordinated and efficient way and delivers sustainable savings for the taxpayer. That is why the Office of Government Procurement (OGP) was established.
The challenge was to create a suite of icons for the new OGP website and graphic banners along with UX design interface for the evolving OGP websites. As the icons needed to be unique but user friendly and obvious to the browser of their intonation it was important that CDG produced designs for an international audience along with an Irish audience. Colour schemes had to be adhered to and brand guidelines.
It was important to make the new features of the website easy to use and browser friendly. The icons were constructed from original designs and we created unique artwork that help usability within the departments website.
